Rogers are proud to announce a special limited addition run of the BBC LS3/5A grade Two monitor
speaker. Each pair has a unique serial number and Teakwood veneer finish and is limited to a production
run of just 300 pairs worldwide.
Initially conceived as a nearfield Grade Two monitor for outside broadcasting the LS3/5A played a key
part in the BBC monitoring standards in the late 1970’s..
Built to traditional BBC standards, the 75th Anniversary LS3/5A is meticulously constructed from 12mm
birch multiply with all seams hardwood battened and the panels critically damped with bituminous sheets.
Internal damping is provided by 9mm thick acoustic foam.
Bass and critical midrange are handled by a Rogers designed low-frequency woofer, whilst the high
frequency is deployed via a 19mm dome tweeter with additional phase correction.
The crossover network uses the highest quality capacitors and enamel resistors. Inductors are
transformer type with M6 laminations. All hand assembled in the UK.
The complete speakers is them assembled and tested to BBC specifications.
Overall the LS3/5A 75th Anniversary delivers a unique midband performance arguably still setting the
standard fifty years after it was introduced!
